On the latest edition of “The Parting Schotts Podcast,” host and Associate Sports Editor Ken Schott talks horse racing, hockey and arena football.
Joining the show first is Gazette sportswriter Mike MacAdam, who will review Week 6 of the Saratoga racing season and preview Week 7.
Former RPI men’s hockey coach Seth Appert was named head coach of the AHL’s Rochester Americans on Tuesday. The Amerks had a Zoom call with reporters, and Schott, who participated in the call, will have clips from that interview.
Arena football is returning to Albany next year with a team in the National Arena League. Times Union Center general manager Bob Belber joins the show to discuss that development.
Finally, expansion franchise Seattle Kraken made history by hiring the NHL’s first Black team broadcaster in Everett Fitzhugh. Schott talks with Fitzhugh about joining the Kraken.
